Meet Magnolia Grove Design & Cabinetry

Jill and Chad McGlaughlin have known each other since high school, but their journey as partners, in life and in business, didn't begin until their mid-twenties. In fact, the same weekend they said “I do,” life had a twist waiting for them. Their house sold the day before their wedding, and with a move on the horizon and a new home being built, they found themselves walking into a local kitchen and bath showroom, just like so many of their future clients would.

Risk and Reward

“We were really hitting it off with the kitchen designer,” Jill recalls. “And he asked if I had any interest in potentially working for that company, and [I] thought, ‘That could be fun!’”

Not long after, that casual conversation turned into a career and then into an incredible opportunity. A few years in, the owner of the company approached Jill with something unexpected: would she be interested in buying the residential side of the business?

Off to an Interesting Start

“I was kind of blown away,” Jill says. “I was like, ‘I have no idea what I’m really doing! But an opportunity like this is not going to come around again’.”

Chad laughs, remembering the moment she came home with the news: “She comes home one evening and says, ‘I’m going to buy the company!"

Founding Classic Kitchen & Bath

In 2001, Jill officially purchased the residential kitchen division of the company she had been working for and founded Classic Kitchen & Bath, opening its doors at the original location on High Street in Harrisonburg, Virginia. A year later, Chad joined the team, bringing his own expertise and energy to the growing business By 2003, they had built their new showroom on Deyerle Avenue and were just getting started. With Chad’s background in operations and manufacturing, the duo co-founded RiverRun Cabinetry, a Shenandoah Valley cabinet company. They ran RiverRun successfully for 15 years before selling it in 2018 to refocus on what they loved most—providing award-winning kitchen and bath design expertise and exceptional products to their clients.

A New Chapter

Together, Jill and Chad built Classic Kitchen & Bath into a trusted name, rooted in their shared values of honesty, creativity, and a deep commitment to service. With Jill leading design and strategy and Chad overseeing operations and logistics, they created a seamless, client-centered experience.

And now, a new chapter has taken root.

Magnolia Grove Design & Cabinetry is the evolution of everything Jill and Chad have built—refreshed, reimagined, and rebranded for their new home in Wilmington, North Carolina.
