From Vision to Reality: The Shuttleworth’s Journey with Magnolia Grove

Five years ago, Chad and Jill worked with Steve to build a home in Carolina Beach. Steve was the builder, and since Chad and Jill were in the business, he utilized their expertise to provide the cabinetry for the project. That collaboration sparked the beginning of an ongoing relationship, with Magnolia Grove supplying cabinetry for many of Steve’s projects in the years that followed.

The Journey to a Perfect Home

Together, they went on to complete multiple houses, each one building momentum toward the ultimate goal: a thoughtfully designed retirement home. Along the way, Magnolia Grove guided the Shuttleworths through cabinetry selections, storage solutions, and custom-built features. From big roll-out drawers and spice racks to a built-in printer cabinet and carefully measured shelving, every detail was designed with purpose.

That retirement home became the culmination of their shared vision, a place built not just with craftsmanship but with heart.

As Jill explains, "It’s like taking the plans you created and then making them come to life, having design and details and not just put cabinets together, but really think through the entire process." For the Shuttleworths, that meant a home that was both beautiful and highly functional, with organization built into every corner.

Our Next Chapter in Wilmington

This fall marks a new chapter for Magnolia Grove as Jill and Chad prepare to open their new Wilmington showroom, a one-of-a-kind design center inside a real house. It’s another space where ideas can come to life and clients can see how design choices will work in their own homes.

Steve and Jill’s story is a testament to collaboration, trust, and the joy of turning a vision into reality. Magnolia Grove is proud to have brought the Shuttleworths’ dream home to life, and we would love to help bring yours to life as well.
